Pepsi Stadium has served has home to the Furman softball program since 2001.

Dedicated prior to the Paladins’ 3-2 win over Southern Conference rival East Tennessee State on April 8, 2001, Pepsi Stadium replaced Furman Field, which served as the center of the school’s softball program in its first 20 years of existence.  During that time, Furman produced a 207-97 record (.681).

Its outfield sodded with Bermuda grass, which provides a  consistently smooth playing surface, Pepsi Stadium measures 200 feet down the left and right field foul lines and 220 feet to the center field fence. 

With seating for 300, the facility boasts enclosed brick dugouts, laser graded infield, bullpens, two batting cages located down the right field line, scoreboard, and a padded outfield fence bordered by an attractive hedge. 

In 2013, Furman added a 2,700-square foot press box facility to Pepsi Stadium.  The new two-story building, designed by McMillan, Pazdan, Smith and built by The Elliott Group, houses a concession stand, storage area and restrooms on the lower level.  The second floor includes coaches offices, seating for operations staff and media as well as a lounge area for entertaining guests and recruits. Lights were added to the facility in 2014 giving the Paladins more flexibility in scheduling games and practices.

The opening of Pepsi Stadium signaled Furman’s continued commitment to softball excellence.  In 1994 the Lady Paladins captured the first regular season and tournament championships offered by the Southern Conference, and the following year Furman made it two in a row by claiming the league regular season crown.  In 2007 Furman returned to the championship ranks by making a clean sweep of the SoCon Tournament field, defeating College of Charleston, Elon, Western Carolina, and Georgia Southern en route to the crown and first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
